This is a yearly curry cook-off competition, where 16 participating Asian restaurants, highly recommended by readers of the Leeds Guide, cook a starter and a main course, which is assessed by a panel of judges to determine who will win this prestigious award. The winner of this competition hosts this event the following year. Hansa's have won and have been finalists within this competition in 2004 and 2006.

The Good Curry Guide is written by Pat Chapman every year who specialises in critiquing Asian restaurants. We have been fortunate enough to be mentioned within this magazine every year and have won the best Indian Vegetarian Restaurant in the UK also.
This award was started by Leeds City Council and was aimed at the Indian food market. The competition was to assess twelve restaurants from in and around the Leeds/Bradford area. We are very proud to have been the winner's of this competition.
